Netflix has been a gateway drug to couch potato-ism like never before. Â Recently, I completed five seasons of 'Friday Night Lights' (FNL) on the instant stream and I've got to say it's one of the best dramas I've ever seen on television. Â Good ol' Magnumb was emotionally invested in the awesome characters that the show brought to life with its excellent writing, development, and performances. Â I now find myself in a position of rooting for the actors as they pursue acting after FNL is off the air. Â It turns out that other people were noticing these awesome performances because some of the actors have moved on to the big screen. Â Why not post about it? Â Oh, and if you haven't watched FNL and you have access to the Netflix Instant Streaming, please do yourself a favor and watch this show.
Kyle Chandler

He plays coach Eric Taylor on FNL and along with actress Connie Briton, they really are the backbone of the FNL series.  While his character isn't asked to do anything extreme in terms of acting range, the challenge for Kyle Chandler has more to do with playing off of the other volatile characters around him and his ability to adapt to the changing landscape of challenges. Chandler's performance about a middle America Texas high school football coach is consistently exceptional and believable.  There's a subtle vulnerability that's allowed to co-exist with the staunchness of being an authority figure in the series.  No doubt, it's this same presence that J.J. Abrams saw in him for last summer's masterpiece 'Super 8' as Deputy Jackson Lamb.
Aimee Teagarden

Aimee plays the role of  the coach's daughter, Julie Taylor, on FNL. Her character is the bright, young anti-hicktown teenager that is looking for more sophistication in her life; however, finds that the town of Dillon, TX has much to offer her. Aimee's beauty and range as an actress caught Disney's attention as she starred in last spring's 'Prom' film and Wes Craven's 'Scream 4'.
Adrianne Palicki

She plays FNL badgirl Tyra Collette. GameFob geeks will probably get to know her as Lady Jaye on the upcoming 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' film alongside Dwaye 'The Rock' Johnson, Channing Tatum, and Bruce Willis. A quick look at the trailer and Adrianne is looking impressive and comfortable while rocking that red dress. While seeing her kick ass on the big screen will be fun, she'll always be known for pouring her soul into her role as the troubled Tyra Collette.
Taylor Kitsch

In FNL, Taylor Kitsch's character, Tim Riggins, was the town of Dillon's badass. His beer-drinking rivaled that of the Texas Rattlesnake himself, Stone Cold Steve Austin. GameFobbers have already mistaken him for Shane West in his portrayal of Gambit in X-Men Origins: Woverine. It seems like Taylor just pulled off his big break to stardom, as he has landed the starring role in Disney's upcoming 'John Carter' slated for Spring 2012 and it potentially poised to be the big blockbuster of 2012.
Some critics think that FNL is one of the best, if not the best, television series ever. These actors are quite possibly a major factor for that sentiment and it looks like Hollywood film studios are taking notice as well. Look for more FNL stars on the big screen.
