They're older, but it looks like the writers, Oscar Kightley (who portrays Albert) and James Griffin have compensated for the aging Duckrockers by establishing that they're over the hump from the first film's girlfriend dilemma.  According to many sources, this new film which debuted yesterday in New Zealand, tackles a much more mature theme while maintaining its comedic spirit. Here's hoping for the same silliness from our five favorite silly Samoans (including Polo) in the sequel and not too much gear-switching.  By gear-switching I'm referring to the serious theme-tackling that we're hearing about.  Judging from the one-liners in the trailer though, all the chemistry of the first film seem to be fully intact.
I can't wait for this film to make its way over the Pacific and on to our shores. Â Since the first film's title changed from 'Sione's Wedding' in NZ to 'Samoan Wedding' in the United States, I wonder what this title change will be? How about 'Samoan Funeral' since they're dealing with death? Â Just sayin'….
