FAN-CAST: If I Casted The Justice League Movie
A Justice League movie? Does such a project even exist? Hmm… DC comics, Warner Bros., GameFob is pretty far from both your ears and eyes, but here’s my vision of the Justice League.
In my head, the Justice League has to be formed when all the heroes are in their youth. All except Batman. I feel that Batman has to be older and wiser than the rest of the super powered team. Superman should be young and reckless. Green Lantern should also be young and at the same time, very very very arrogant. Let’s take a look see:
Adrian Pasdar – Bruce Wayne/Batman
I never liked Christian Bale as Batman, but I will say that the Nolan film does do well as a whole entity. Jeff Robinov, Warner Bros. president has said that hopes to “reinvent” the Batman film franchise after Nolan’s, The Dark Knight Rises. I’ve always liked Adrian Pasdar since his stint on NBC’s Heroes as Nathan Patrelli. His role as a politician on Heroes was very anti Bruce Wayne at first, but he definitely has the look as a high class Gotham elite.
Ryan Reynolds – Hal Jordan/Green Lantern
Why change a good… I mean “okay” thing? Like I’ve mentioned before, although Green Lantern didn’t do well in the box office, DC still managed to produce a feature film that wasn’t Batman or Superman. The Green Lantern film showed some really great things and has a lot of potential, especially with the Sinestro easter egg.
Armie Hammer – Clark Kent/Superman
Henry Cavill looks pretty cool as Superman, but my one gripe with him is… err… he’s British. Superman is a “American” hero. Although later in Superman’s story, he denounces his US citizenship, he’s still American. Take THAT, Great Britain! In all seriousness, Armie Hammer was robbed of being Batman in the proposed Justice League film that crashed and burned when the writers strike happened, so in the interest of fairness, lets upgrade him to Superman.
Bradley Cooper- Barry Allen/The Flash
WE NEED A FLASH MOVIE! No, not a movie with flash capabilities… a DC comics, The Flash movie! Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato are producing a pretty awesome running Flash comic book series via The New 52 initiative. Buccellato was actually called by Warner Bros. representatives asking him if they could adapt a lot of the drawn elaborations from The Flash. Cool huh?
Emily Deschanel – Princess Diana/Wonder Woman
Read my Wonder Woman film editorial for this one.
Philip Winchester – Orin/Aquaman
I believe I’ve already explained this? Read here.
Carl Lumbey - J’onn J’onzz/Martian Manhunter(Voice)
Carl Lumbey voiced Martian Manhunter in the Bruce Timm animated series, Justice League: Unlimited. I’ve always loved his work when he’s voicing Martian Manhunter. Much like Kevin Conroy with Batman, Carl Lumbey, for me, will be forever ingrained as the voice of Martian Manhunter. As far as actually playing him, well that’s a different story. I’ve always envisioned Martian Manhunter to be completely CGI because of his ability to shapeshift into any being and form.
Chris Pine – Oliver Queen/Green Arrow
Captain Kirk should definitely be Green Arrow. Just look at ‘em! There’s a lot of controversy about Green Arrow’s new look, but I think it fits for my vision of a Justice League film. An older Bruce Wayne and a younger Oliver Queen. Can you imagine the sarcasm and ego measuring in a scene with these two?
Charlize Theron – Black Canary
Black Canary was definitely a tough one to think of. Not too many blonde bombshells have what the Black Canary character demands. You have to be both physical and tough to play Dinah Lance. Charlize Theron is beautiful and can pull off the Dinah Lance “bad girl” persona. Charlize has proven a lot to me in recent years with her many roles, but still doesn’t sit with me 100% as Black Canary, but definitely comes the closest. So this choice isn’t really set in stone for me.
Michael Fassbender – Carter Holl/Hawkman
Fassbender who recently played Magneto in X-Men: First Class has done the whole ancient warrior thing when he was in 300 as Stelios way back when in 2006. So just add some wings and Hawkman some armor and bam! You have Hawkman! It’s a lot better than Bill Nuckols in Smallville. That was just disgusting.
Erin Cummings – Shayera Hol/Hawkgirl
I didn’t really fall in love with Shayera Hol, excuse me.. Hawkgirl until the animated series, Justice League: Unlimited. I tell ya, there’s something about the red hair and that strong voice. Here we have the gorgeous Erin Cummings. Take your time. Cummings has done some work on Spartacus, so much like Fassbender with his role in ancient in 300, we have Cummings who’s also done some work in an ancient Greek society. So slaps some wings on that…. !
Jon Hamm – The Atom
Dr. Ray Palmer has a very strong chin, Jon Hamm has a very strong chin. That’s all I got.
Obviously, you can’t have all these actors and actresses in one movie, but seeing how the film hasn’t been made or probably won’t be made, I don’t care. Anyways, what do you think? Share your thoughts and feel free to troll.
