‘Wii U’ Suspension Notice with the USPTO – Possible Name Change?

Last month, there were rumors of Nintendo contemplating a name change for the Wii U. While GameFob was going to do a quick write-up on this heavily covered topic, I held back thinking Nintendo is too stubborn to change its name anyway. Reggie and Iwata gave a full on speech behind the ‘Wii U’ name at last year’s E3 Nintendo Press Conference.

One of our crazy sources dug up a link to the United States Patent and Trademark Office that shows a suspension notice for the trademarked ‘Wii U’ name. The document is dated January 12, 2012 of last year.  Still, who knows what’s been done since then on the Wii U front?

What do 'Wii' call 'U'?

If Nintendo does opt to change the name of its new gaming console, what are they going to go with? Personally, I liked  ’Revolution’ code name for the Wii.  They should resurrect it for the new console methinks.

Doesn't matter what they call 'U' as long as I get this!
